There are many ways to secure a diamond into a setting that is both flattering to the stone and insures it stays put. The prong setting is the most common, its ability to hold a range of sizes makes it a popular choice for manufactures. Bezel settings are the most secure but they will only fit a very specific size of stone. The completely enclosed nature of a bezel compromises the sparkle and brilliance to a small degree. We’ve seen this hybrid cup setting a few times before and I must say, for smaller diamonds this design really shows them off well. Only two tiny claws touch the diamond leaving an uninterrupted view of the rest is the stone. The concave inner surface with highly reflective rhodium finish focuses extra light from behind.
Being slightly wider than the actual diamond the “cup” setting appears to enhance the diamonds size. Just looking at this setting you’d swear this diamond is much larger than 0.20 carats. The diamond itself measures 3.85mm diameter and is estimated to weigh 0.20 carat. It is a bright G colour, eye clean SI1 clarity, and an excellent cut.
This is a Canadian diamond with a laser etched serial number on the girdle.
This specific registered identification number has also been laser etched on the back of the 14 karat white gold setting. The petite setting weighs 0.46 grams and features a good sized bail than can accommodate a chain close to 3.5mm wide. Our estate pendant does not come with a chain, we have many new and estate necklaces that will suit the pendant if you need one. We are showing the pendant on an 18 karat, white gold, 2.94 gram, 17 inch Tiffany necklace. If you’re interested in this necklace it is available separately for $780.00. The pendant setting shows next to no wear on the bail but does display scuffs and scratches from likely rubbing against other jewellery. These minor blemishes can be polished away while you wait. This beautiful Canadian natural diamond pendant is estate priced at just $390.00 CAD. Stock #161-00408.
We are always looking to buy your estate pieces including brands such as Rolex, Cartier, Breitling, Tag Heuer, along with gold and diamond jewellery.
