Jadeite & diamond ring, 5.2gr. 14kt. sz. 6 1/2. $840.00 CAD. 206-00591

Jadeite is a highly prized gem in the far east. It is of significant cultural value in countries like China where it is highly valued and said to possess many benefits.  It is believed to fend off negative energy, promote good luck, and overall well-being. Many feel the beautiful translucent green gem has beneficial influence for clear thinking, emotional stability and enhancing creativity. Besides all that, in very good quality it comes in a calming cool green hue that is almost unique to precious jadeite. There are many other green stones that can be confused with true jadeite but they don’t have jadeite’s saturation of colour and toughness. This ring features a navette shaped cabochon cut jadeite measuring 12.2mm x 5.3mm x 2.6mm estimated to weigh 1.50 carats. It is bezel set in a custom made 14 karat yellow gold ring weighing over 5 grams in a finger size 6.5. The jadeite is accented with a small round brilliant cut natural diamond on each shoulder weighing 0.015 carat of I1-H quality. The ring and stones are in excellent condition showing little wear. This ring can easily be adjusted up or down a size or two to fit most fingers. Estate priced at $840.00 CAD. 206-00591.

Tag Heuer Formula 1 Gulf Racing special edition CAZ101N 43mm $1,900.00 CAD. 520-00136

Tag Heuer Formula 1 watches have come a long way since the line was introduced in 1986. The debut came toward the end of the quartz crisis that bankrupted many Swiss watch manufacturers. In fact, the Formula 1 was the first watch series released after Techniques d’Avant Garde (TAG) acquired the Heuer Watch Company. Heuer had become financially stressed as their traditional mechanically based product line had trouble competing with much lower priced Japanese quartz technology. It’s fair to say the brightly coloured, composite-cased original Formula 1 watches helped save Heuer from insolvency. Our latest formula 1 dates more than 3 decades after the originals hit jewellers showcases in the 1980s. It benefits from 30 years of improvements. Screw-down threaded crown, super hard synthetic sapphire crystal, advanced luminova glowing pigments, and full 316l stainless steel construction are features the originals never had. I love the blue/orange colours that pay a not so subtle homage to Heuer and Tag Heuer’s racing association with Gulf dating back over half a century. Our latest F1 estate offering has only been occasionally worn and is in almost new condition. The polished/brushed finish is completely original and has not been polished or refinished in any way. This is the popular Gulf Racing edition in vibrant blue and orange, model CAZ101N.FC8243. It comes complete with an instruction booklet, perfect condition inner/outer boxes, booklets, instructions, printed product sticker sheet, previous purchase invoice for £1,300.00 pounds sterling, but is lacking the original warranty card.  The efficient and ultra precise quartz movement should run trouble free for many years to come. This is collectible model has recently been retired but is still shown on the Tag Heuer corporate website priced at $3,050.00 CAD. Our lightly worn estate example includes a complimentary 1-year warranty and is priced at $1,900.00 CAD. Stock #520-00136

Blue topaz & Amethyst ring 7.88ct. tw. 14 karat Canadian made 4.3gr. sz. 5 3/4. $500.00 CAD. 206-00607

High quality estate rings in our under $1,000.00 category are consistently selling quickly and it comes as no surprise. Sometimes you can pick up a really cool piece like this for little more than the cost of a few nights out with the girls. This super fun genuine stone ring represents just such an opportunity. It is made in Canada from upgraded 14 karat white gold in a finger size 5 3/4. The vivid gems are natural blue topaz and amethyst. We’ve calculated the round topaz to weigh around 5.70 carats and the two matching checkboard cut oval amethyst to weigh a combined 2.18 carats. They brightly coloured gems are in perfect condition looking like new. The entire ring looks almost unworn. The only evidence of use is some minor rhodium plate wear on the bottom of the shank. This well made ring has been crafted right here in Ontario at Beverly Hills Jewellery Manufacturing. The finished ring is completely solid including the shoulders and can easily be sized up or down without concern. You can’t help but smile when you look at the striking coloured stones of the good sized stones used to create this ring.  The ring weighs over 4.3 grams and is estate priced at only $500.00 CAD. 1954 Omega Century 17-jewel, hand wind, 33.4mm, gold filled case. $1,300.00 CAD. 510-00200

The Omega Century is an uncommon watch that was only sold in Canada. It is very topical today as this watch only exists due to U.S. tariffs that were imposed on imported Swiss watches. During the 1950 the U.S. government imposed significant tariffs on imported Swiss watches in the hopes of protecting the failing domestic watch manufacturing industry. The 10 karat gold filled case of this watch was manufactured by The Star Watch Case Company of Michigan. The tariffs applied mainly to completed watches from Switzerland, so assembling a watch using an American made case eliminated that extra cost. We Canadians have always been a frugal bunch and the Omega Century was the perfect product for us. It looked like a high end, solid gold, completely Swiss made Omega chronometer but was priced at a fraction of that. In the 1950s these watches only cost around $100.00. The in-house designed and manufactured 17 jewell mechanism is a beautiful example of Swiss watchmaking excellence. It is not terribly complicated but showcases excellent finish details with lovely bevelled plates finished in rose gold. The tiny poising screws on the rim of the balance wheel within these shock protected workhorse movements were all adjusted by hand until the wheel was perfectly balanced. Although the 17 jewell calibre 266 wasn’t subjected to independent timing certification, these robust movements often run close to chronometer levels of accuracy. They run at a leisurely 18,000 cycles per hour results in a long (for the era) 42 hour power reserve. The genuine signed Omega crown looks like new and is a nice touch. Our Century dates from around 1954 according to the 14,615,898 serial number. The crosshairs silver dial is in very good original condition showing minor patina on the righthand edge. The gold filled case is also in very good condition for a watch that is 70 years old. The gold cap finish only shows wear on the bottom outside tips. Many examples of this model have significant wear on the lugs exposing the base metal core. The watch is running great and keeping time. We are happy to provide the next owner of this little piece of Canadian/Omega history with a complimentary 1 year warranty. Estate priced at $1,300.00 CAD. Stock #510-00200.
