Omega Speedmaster 3513.30 39mm Automatic $2,000.00 CAD. 510-00137
Speedmasters have been a core product for Omega since the 1950s. As the vintage watch collecting hobby comes of age it’s possible to see early examples of originals selling for 6 figures. This watch is around 25 years old and comes with the very subtle and sophisticated tone on tone silver dial. At 39mm diameter, these watches are amazingly comfortable. The locking sliding buckle is shorter than most and fits the average to slim wrist better than the larger Speedmaster models.
The steel tachymeter bezel scale is reminiscent of the Rolex Daytona bezel. Did you know the original Speedmaster from 1957 featured a similar bezel 6 years before the Rolex Cosmograph even debuted.
Unlike an early Daytona, this watch is available without taking out a 2nd mortgage to finance it. It is also self winding with a handy 31-day calendar, that no Daytona has ever been equipped with.
Powering the Speedmaster 3513.30 is a 25 jewel Omega calibre 1152 (modified Valjoux 7750). These workhorse movements are renowned for their reliability, serviceability, and accuracy. They can easily be tuned to well within chronometer levels of accuracy.
The history of the Omega Speedmaster is one Omega’s most valuable narratives and they leverage this story in a multitude of versions. Modern Speedmasters are among the most popular models offered. Getting into a new Speedmaster will have you spending a minimum of $7,600.00, with prices escalating to well over $100,000.00. Our estate example appears to be in regularly worn original condition with scuffs, scratches, and the occasional light impact mark. The 19 link bracelet shows very little sag and no stretch.
