Heart motif pendants have always been popular for romantic gift giving occasions. Heart inspired jewellery can be abstract or simple; there are many different ways to express your creative side with heart themed jewellery. Our latest heart is this tri-colour, tri-frame pendant set with a pinkish/brown morganite set in the centre. Moganite have become a popular coloured gem alternative to the more predicable sapphire, ruby, and emerald choices seen in every jewellery store. This one showcases a very flattering modified brilliant cut that is almost identical to what you’d see on a perfectly cut round diamond. We calculate the 6.5mm diameter morganite weighs approximately 0.90 carats.
Looking through the pinkish/brown beryl reveals an almost perfect eight point star pattern reflecting from the pavilion (see 1st image). This isn’t something we typically see in coloured gemstones as the cutting process in gems other than diamonds isn’t nearly as accurate or scrutinized. The morganite is surrounded by 3 stepped heart shaped frames in yellow, white, and rose gold. Each frame has been embellished with a string of precisely set tiny diamonds. The 160 small diamonds weigh just 0.003 carat each, 0.50 carat in total weight. What they lack in outright size they add in excellent reflective sparkle to the piece. This unique heart shaped pendant is suspended from a light weight rose gold rolo style necklace. An additional jump-ring loop has been soldered into the necklace to be worn at 16 inches or 18 and is secured by a large lobster style clasp.
The necklace and pendant are in like new condition and weigh a combined 5.4 grams. This colourful expression of a heart pendant is estate priced at $1,200.00 CAD. Stock #161-00365.
