2024 never worn Rolex Submariner 126610LN 41mm. $16,800.00 CAD. 505-00502

This is the latest generation Rolex Submariner Date. We’ve had a few of the 126610 series since they debuted in 2020 but most were sold before we even had a chance to post them. We don’t expect this one to last long either. The Submariner Date is without doubt the quintessential sports watch to which all others are judged and their popularity is unwavering. For 2020 Rolex installed their caliber 3235 automatic chronometer movement, which has a longer 70-hour power reserve and a proprietary Chronergy escapement, marking a serious improvement over the previous caliber. Rolex also claim this newest Submariner is accurate to plus or minus 2 seconds per day. If this were a quartz watch, that type of performance would be pitiful, but for a self winding, mechanical watch, that is about as good as it gets at any price point. Service intervals are now a rather lengthy 10 years. Hats off to Rolex for giving their new watches such an extended maintenance schedule. This is the first Submariner to measure 41mm in diameter. For decades the they were always 40mm. You’re certainly not going to see the extra 1mm in the case, but they also increased the bracelet width a touch while at the same time thinning the lugs down a bit. This new silhouette better conforms to every other generation Submariner except for the previous generation 116610 series with the “bulky” looking case. It was purchased in  spring of 2024 but never worn. It remains in 100% unworn condition. Not a screw in the removable bracelet links has been turned. Not even the tiniest blemish or scuff can be seen on the case or bracelet. The watch remains covered under the 5-year Rolex international warranty until well into 2029. It comes with the full compliment of removable links. The hang tags, endorsed warranty card, inner/outer boxes, booklets, instructions, wallets, and even the soft foam box liner (not shown) are all included with purchase. Steel Submariners are still never available at Rolex agents and have long waiting lists to get one, with unknown delivery dates. This like new example is estate priced at $16,800.00 CAD. Stock #505-00502.

14kt. Italian Paperclip link necklace 18″, 4.3 grams, 3.2mm wide, $350.00 CAD. 431-00792

The “paperclip” link is the most popular style chain on the market. The design has been around a few years now and we stock new ones in various lengths and sizes. We almost never have the opportunity to showcase a decent sized estate paperclick necklace like this one. This one may just be the Goldilocks length/size/weight/colour/karat/price combination, it won’t be in stock very long. The 18 inch length is very versatile, able to be worn over a light top or against your skin. 3.2mm wide looks substantial but not overwhelming and you can wear a pendant on it too. Hollow construction but still 4.3 grams make it durable but not too expensive. Yellow gold is back and super popular, this one showcases the rich traditional hue of the precious metal. Made from upgraded 14 karat gold (58.3% purity) that is a great balance over 10 karat, with better corrosion resistance and richer hue without getting into premium 18 karat gold. The estate nature of this popular design helps to keep the price in check. Italian made to their usual high standards of manufacturing quality and finish. It is secured by a large and easy to use lobster clasp. Don’t wait on this one, estate priced at $350.00 CAD. Stock #431-00792.

Sale pending.

2022 Christopher Ward Sealander C63 39.5mm, like new. $700.00 CAD. 501-00249

Christopher Ward watches are new type of luxury watch company that have been around for about 20 years. English design and made in Switzerland to a exacting standards without the extra frills and fluff. A direct to consumer online based distribution model with no costly celebrity endorsements or expensive marketing campaigns allow them very high quality without the the high price. I guess if you’ve never heard of them, the little to no marketing campaign is working. They describe their watches as “the cheapest most expensive watches in the world”. I have to agree, at this price point it’s hard to find many watches of this specification. This 2022 C63 is from the Sealander collection. A field style of watch with excellent water resistance qualities of 500 feet thanks to the threaded crown and case-back. The 39mm case is machined from 316L stainless steel and showcases brushed and polished finishes along the edges. A guard along the case edge contour helps protect the 6.25mm crown from impacts. A super hard sapphire crystal should keep the optics perfect. A glossy black dial features large applied markers and hands filled with a generous amount of luminous pigment. I love the trident tail of the seconds hand that subtly implies the watertight nature of the Sealander. A calendar and seconds hand add extra utility you’d expect from a watch that can double for almost any activity. Powering the Sealander is a robust Selitta SW200-1 with a 38 hour power reserve. This 26 jewel shock resistant movement can be found in many watches from notable brands of lower specification that cost twice as much. Familiar to any watchmaker with easy access to parts, this movement is ready to provide reliable service for many decades with only the occasional cleaning. The watch comes with a high quality chocolate brown leather strap with signed stainless steel buckle. The previous owner purchased a nice quality Dassari green leather strap but never installed it. This watch looks like new, it was only worn a few times by the previous owner. It comes complete with the wooden presentation box, instruction booklet, warranty card, and the extra 20mm green leather strap. We are happy to provide the next owner with a complimentary 1-year warranty. This watch is estate priced at $700.00 CAD. Stock #501-00249.

14kt. Jadeite suite GIA reports $1,750.00 CAD (available separately) 241-00076, 206-00472, 211-00178, 231-00275

If you’re not an expert in gems it’s always best to be cautious when purchasing valuable jewellery. Many modern gem enhancements are difficult to impossible to detect by the average jeweller. Even experienced Gemologists can have trouble distinguishing some of the advanced treatments seen today. Inexpensive laboratory created gems can, and often are virtually identical to their natural counterparts that are now common in the jewellery business. Sometimes even well intentioned jewellers mistakenly sell enhanced, altered, treated, and outright synthetics gems as natural. As buyers and sellers of estate jewellery we see more than our fair share of misrepresented jewellery and precious gems. Jade is one of the most commonly altered gem materials we come across, by far the majority of Jadeite has been treated in some form. When this suite of 14 karat yellow gold Jadeite jewellery came in we assumed it had been dyed. We sent two of the four items to The Gemological Institute of American for a report. There was a chance the jade was of  natural colour, but we knew that was a long shot. Natural Jadeite of this colour would cost more than 10 times what enhanced material does. As expected the GIA results came back describing the enhancements as being bleached to remove the original brown body colour, then dyed to this beautiful apple green hue, and impregnated with a polymer to improve the finish and polish. The two GIA reports can be seen here and here. These enhancements are stable, permanent and greatly improve the appearance of this natural Jadeite jewellery. The jewellery has been crafted from 14 karat yellow gold to a high standard. The ring measures a finger size 8 and weighs in at almost 5 grams. The earrings have a spring loaded Omega backs that are easy to use and provide excellent security. The gold surface of the bangle has been decorated with hand engraved highlights. The jewellery has be packaged together but is available separately. Bangle 241-00076 $840.00, ring 206-00472 $420.00, earrings 211-00178 $280.00, pendant 231-00275 $210.00 CAD.

Ring sold.
