Pomellato M’ama garnet earrings 3.50ct. tw., 3.8 grams, 18 karat gold. $1,500.00 CAD. 211-00266

We’ve only ever had one other piece of Pomellato jewellery pass through our estate department before; as soon as we saw this pair of earrings we knew they would be our second. The Pomellato style is unmistakably organic, smooth and flowing as if formed by nature. Polished and faceted cabochons using colourful natural gems are mainstay design elements for most Pomellato creations. You don’t see many of the traditional gems like sapphire, emerald, and ruby; instead they focus on unusual hues of quartz, topaz, tourmaline,  garnet, peridot, and malachite. Established in Milan Italy in 1967; so it comes as no surprise their style continues the tradition of excellence coming from one of the world’s great design centres. Our compact little earrings are part of the M’ama collection from the early part of the 21st century. They are only around 14mm in height but weigh a stout 3.8 grams. Naturally they have been handcrafted from rich 18 karat yellow gold. Each earring contains a perfectly polished pinkish purple rhodolite garnet of exceptional quality. Each garnet measures 6.5mm diameter and is estimated to weight 1.75 carats. The high refractive index of garnet and the tall dome profile of the cabochon cut gives these stones an optical effect similar to a powerful optical lens. Each earring is secured with a tight spring loaded signed hinge that closes over a wire post that is perfectly integrated into the earring body. Pomellato retired this design a few years ago but the unique style still looks great today. The Pomellato brand is definitely worth having a look at if you love extraordinary design and skillfully handcrafted jewellery. From what information we can gather about these garnet M’ama earrings we feel they cost around $2,400.00 USD before they were retired. Our estate pair are in perfect condition, showing no wear of any kind. They are estate priced at $1,500.0 CAD. Stock #211-00266.

Tag Heuer Formula 1 WAZ1110.BA0875 41MM $1,000.00 CAD. 520-00179

The Tag Heuer Formula 1 has come a long way since the first versions were introduced in the 1980s. I feel you can credit the Formula 1 as the biggest reason Tag Heuer survived the quartz crisis that put many Swiss manufacturers out of business due to the onslaught of good quality, low-cost quartz watches from Japan. The original Formula 1 models only cost a few hundred dollars and were constructed mostly from composite materials aside from the screw on case-back. Today the Formula 1 is truly a watch worthy of consideration by any watch aficionado. Our latest example is a personal favorite for an almost indestructible tool watch that you don’t need to be careful with. Under the super tough and durable synthetic sapphire crystal is a beautiful matt finish black dial with applied markers that are super legible under any lighting conditions. The Arabic 12 and 6 remind me of a Rolex Explorer and the classic green/red logo is something most modern Tag Heuer are lacking. At 41mm it isn’t too big and cumbersome and the slightly thinner ratcheting bezel allows more room for a big dial for easy time interpretation, making this one of the most purposeful watches around. A threaded crown and case back contribute to a water-resistant rating of 200 meters. Solid construction stainless steel bracelet with diver’s extension and locking buckle allows use in any circumtances. The watch is in very good condition, showing scratches mostly on the buckle cover, the bracelet and case look excellent. The solid stainless bracelet shows little wear and sag, it contains 15 links adjustable to fit a wrist of up to 8 inches. The watch is covered by our 1-year complementary warranty. Tag-Heuer still produce a quartz Formula 1 watch that looks pretty much the same as our estate model WAZ1110 but the black PVD bezel has been replaced with brushed stainless steel. The current version (ref:WAZ1112) can be seen online where is shows a retail price of $2,500.00. This very good condition Tag Heuer does not come with its original packaging or documents. Our price for this previously enjoyed Formula 1 is $1,000.00 CAD. Stock #520-00179.

1976 Montreal Olympic 14kt. gold coin on 18″ 18kt. belcher chain, 25.2gr. tw. $4,350.00 CAD. 435-00314

Catch the Olympic spirit with this 1976 $100.00 gold coin commemorating Canada’s first time hosting the Olympic games, 50 years ago in Montreal. The Italian winter Olympics are in full swing, and hopefully Canada will bring home lots of gold at these games. At the 1976 Montreal Summer games, Canada failed to win a single gold medal. This was the only time a host nation has not won at least one gold metal and something that has not been repeated since. This $100.00 face value Canadian coin was minted from 14 karat gold and contains 1/4 ounce of pure gold. It measures 27mm diameter (about the same size as a Canadian looney). At current gold prices (February 7, 2026) this coin contains just under $1,700.00 in gold value. These coins are not uncommon as 650,000 were produced. It is secured in hand made ribbon bezel frame also made from 14 karat gold adding another 3.4 grams to the pendant. It is suspended from an 18 karat oval link belcher style necklace measuring 18 inches long and 2.6mm wide. We don’t encounter many chains manufactured in England but this one is proudly display a tag proclaiming its heritage by Curteis Jewellery England. This well made necklace is hallmarked with UK stamps noting its gold content, maker, city of assay, and year of production. The chain is secured by an oversized lobster clasp that is easy to use and very secure. The necklace/pendant show very little wear, the coins displays light scuffs and scratches and remains in original unpolished condition. Maybe this beautiful pendant will bring some luck to Canada’s athletes at this years Olympic games and bring home lots of gold medals this time. Canadians are resilient and the winter games have always been our place to shine. The necklace and pendant came to us as a set but we will break them up should you only want the chain or pendant. The set is estate priced at $4,350.00 CAD. Stock #435-00314.

1990 Rolex Submariner 16613, 40mm, diamond/sapphire “serti” dial $16,500.00 CAD. 505-00445

Without question the Rolex Submariner is the world’s most popular sports watch. For 60 years the Submariner has been the choice for those who want a watch than can operate with accuracy and reliably in almost any environment. For the first few decades of production the Submariner was only available in stainless steel. In the late 70s, an all gold version debuted, a few year later a two-tone version became available. The gold and two-tone models where signs of changing times and a change of corporate direction for Rolex. They realized they had become a luxury lifestyle statement in addition to one of many other high quality watch manufacturers. Their watches were not only being purchased by those who required the specific capabilities, but more and more by people wanted to be part of the Rolex story. Adding diamonds and sapphires to a watch that was originally developed as a simple time telling watertight tool contribute zero function. In fact the sparkling hour markers framed in 18 karat yellow gold bezels detract from the legibility, but they sure do look nice. The champagne dial along with other gem set dials have come to be know as “serti” dials. Serti comes from the French word “sertir”, meaning “to set”, specifically in reference to gem setting. Rolex describe all of their watches set with gems faces as serti dials, but most Rolex fans refer mostly to the sports references with gem dials as serti models. The professional models have always been the most popular and we see our fair share of them but rarely do they turn up with these expensive optional dials. I can only recall seeing 3 or 4 of these serti Submariners pass through our estate department over the pass 30 years or so. Our latest Submariner dates from 1990. The original champagne dial is in excellent condition, no discolouration, moisture stains, or blemishes of any kind. The long 12 link bracelet 93153 features a Rolex replacement buckle with an OP date code from 2006. The 18 karat and stainless steel bracelet shows only minor sag.  The rotating timer bezel turns counterclockwise with precision allowing a timer display of up to 60 minutes with 30 second intervals. The threaded triplock crown feels like new with a full turn and a half before popping out to the winding position. The sharp edged sapphire crystal shows a few areas of abrasions, the tiny chips are difficult to see without magnification and are commonly seen on many Rolex from this era. The watch is running great with all functions operating as designed. Don’t let the pretty face fool you, this watch is still a Submariner and was warrantied watertight when new to a depth of 1000 feet. The watch still passed our vacuum test but we suggest you don’t wear this watch for deep dives. These valuable original tritium dials are no longer available and a replacement service dial from Rolex is likely to cost around two thousand dollars. Considering the rarity, serti dial Submarines don’t cost nearly as much as you’d expect. Looking at what’s available on the secondary market, there appears to be only around 1 serti dial for every 100 regular dial Submariners. We are happy to provide the new owner with a complimentary 1-year warranty. This watch does not come with any original documentation or packaging. It is estate priced at $16,500.00 CAD. Stock #505-00445.

Sept. ’25. Cartier Love ring, 3.6mm, sz. 10.25, 3.96gr. 18kt. yellow gold. $1,100.00 CAD. 401-00317

When it comes to Cartier we get more requests for their “Love” line of jewellery than anything else. Somehow the simple look and basic design of the screw head has really captured the imagination of jewellery lovers. Cartier themselves describe the design like this. “The LOVE collection began with the iconic bracelet created in New York in 1969. An expression of Cartier’s design vision, this oval bracelet can be identified by its radical, innovative motif that dares to show its screws. Above and beyond its design, LOVE is a collection, a physical embodiment of feelings.” It started with a bracelet but now includes rings, bracelets, earrings, pendants, and cufflinks. They come in gold or platinum, with or without gem embellishment. Our latest “Love” item is this band style ring that was purchased in September of 2025 in the Czech Republic. It comes complete with the original invoice, certificate, large travel pouch, plus the original envelopes. It measures a European size 63 (North American 10 1/4). It is possible to size this ring but the screw spacing will become disrupted. This comfortable 3.6mm ring can be worn by a man or woman. Crafted in traditional 18 karat yellow gold, it weighs just under 4 grams. Yes it’s a simple design but is still complicated to manufacture. The totally flat surface has been perfectly divided by the 8 screwheads. The pattern has not been simply cast in place but machine engraved with the type of perfection that no casting process could duplicate. We have opted to leave it in original unpolished condition. It shows light scuffs and scratches associated with only a few months of use. These minor blemishes could be removed while you wait should you choose to make it look more like it was never worn. This ring is currently shown on the Cartier website with a retail price of $1,920.00. Our lightly worn example is estate priced at $1,100.00 CAD. Stock #401-00317.
