Think of this as the “James Bond watch” on steroids. Its 41.5mm case size is bigger, thicker, bulkier and has more functions compared to the much more common movie star issue 2531.80.00. All the regular Seamaster features are showcased in this watch and the 12 hour chronograph are all operating perfectly. The chronometer rated movement is running within chronometer specifications. Its threaded crown and case back are designed to keep the movement protected from moisture to a depth of 1000 feet.
60 minute one way ratcheting timer bezel along with a 3 register 12 hour chronograph give you all the timing capability you could ask for. Heavy solid link bracelet with diver’s extension and helium escape valve will have even the most seasoned diver entertained.
It’s so nice to see the original day-glow orange register tips are still in place and haven’t faded completely to that pinkish white hue seen on most of these.
This example is one of the nicest we’ve seen in a long time and it is the more rare titanium case and bracelet version. The titanium option cost 30% more than the identical model in stainless steel. The bracelet shows very little sage and still maintains the brushed finish with two thin polished sections.
Large skeleton hands with bright luminous treatment allow easy time interpretation in all lighting conditions.
Overall finish and condition are very good to excellent. The finish appears original and unpolished. The watch shows a few minor scuffs and impact marks but nothing significant. There are many worse things you can do with $3,500.00 besides buying a good Swiss watch from one of the most renowned brands.
This watch cost exactly twice what the basic automatic time/date only “James Bond” Seamaster of the era, but they don’t sell for much more than the basic offering on the pre-owned market and represent a great value.
Model 2298.80.00 had a suggested retail price of $5,200.00 when new. This example is around 20 years old but looks practically new. It comes with a period correct inner/outer box, and instruction book. The watch is running great and keeping great time courtesy of a full overhaul/service by our master watchmaker in February 2025. Including our 1 year complimentary warranty this uncommon titanium Seamaster Chronograph is estate priced at $3,500.00 CAD. Stock #510-00207.
Made in Canada and crafted using Canadian sourced gold. These earrings are an interesting exercise in mirror image 3 dimensional symmetry. It would have been easy to just make an oval hoop bead set with diamonds, but this set showcases what looks like a twisted square wire with diamonds set on two sides. The illusion is very effective and gives the earrings a far more interesting shadowed look. They are also hinged on the diamond set vertical bar adding sparkle at the slightest movement.
The earrings contain 82 tiny brilliant cut chocolate brown and white natural diamonds. We’ve calculated the diamonds weigh an estimated 0.50 carats in total weight. They are well matched of SI to I clarity with HI colour (white diamonds). The brown diamonds have been enhanced with a black rhodium plating added some extra contrast. Excellent condition looking like new. Secured by medium length 0.8mm posts with sturdy butterfly friction backs. They weigh a combined weight of just over 3 grams. Estate priced at $700.00 CAD. Concord was founded in Switzerland in 1908. The brand was created to design luxury timepieces for the burgeoning affluent American market. Often their watches incorporated precious metals and gems making them more than just high quality time keepers. In 1915 Concord started to manufacture watches for jewellery greats Tiffany, Van Cleef & Arpels and even Cartier. It was a Concord watch presented to Winston Churchill and Joseph Stalin by President Truman during the World War II peace talks. During the quartz crisis of the 1980s that nearly crippled the Swiss watch industry, Concord thrived by designing and manufacturing some of the most expensive quartz watches ever to be seen on the market.
In the 1970s and 80s their quartz technology allowed them to produce extremely thin and sleek designs; some measuring less than 2mm thick. Our ladies Concord Saratoga 15 73 287 is a classic and elegant dress watch with a touch of bling. A synthetic sapphire crystal protects a beautiful embossed silver diamond featuring gold Roman numerals and a date aperture at 3 o’clock.
The solid 18 karat bezel is bead set with 16 round brilliant cut diamonds of excellent VS-GH quality totaling 0.35 carats. Concord really go the extra mile in terms of quality. 18 karat gold trim runs the entire length of the bracelet and is of solid construction, it’s far heavier than many of the gold laminated designs seen in other brands.
Each adjustable link is secured by 2 threaded screws compared to many brands who secure their links with only a simple split pin rivet or bushed friction pin. The case back on the Saratoga is held on by 4 screws not a basic interference snap on back.
Even though this watch is not designed to be waterproof it passed our vacuum test for water resistance so it wasn’t a concern when it we submerged the entire watch in our ultrasonic cleaner. At just 23mm diameter this watch would be perfect for the slim wrist lady who is looking for a versatile watch that can be worn for almost any event or activity. Equipped with a Swiss quartz high precision movement that is keeping excellent time. The watch is in very good condition and appears never to have been polished or refinished in any way, aside from the bracelet edges only. Including a 1 year complimentary warranty the watch is estate priced at $1,900.00 CAD. Stock 501-00391.
Princess cut diamonds were the most popular shape for engagement rings around 15 years ago. Today it’s oval shaped diamonds that are our most often requested. When it comes to channel set anniversary rings like this, princess cut diamonds have always made the most sense. When tightly set, side by side in a low channel they offer an uninterrupted display of sparkle and brilliance.
Round stones in this sort of setting look good too, but will always shown some empty areas of dead space. Princess cut diamonds are cut the same as a round diamond but with a square outline. They look a little smaller given their slightly deeper cutting proportions but offer a perfectly straight edge when expertly set in an anniversary style ring. The 10 princess cut diamonds in this ring each measure approximately 2.25mm x 2.25mm and weigh a combined 0.75 carats in total weight. They are very well matched of SI-I clarity and colour. This ring is constructed from 14 karat white gold in a finger size 6 1/2, weighing a sturdy 4 grams. The backside is open for easy cleaning with two connecting struts for added security.
We can only adjust the fit up or down about half a size. It was crafted in Canada by long time manufacturer Corona Jewellery in Toronto. The ring is in hardly worn condition and would fit without gaps with any flat edged engagement or wedding ring. It also looks great all by itself on the right hand. This ring is estate priced at $1,190.00 CAD. Stock #121-00043.
Speedmasters have been a core product for Omega since the 1950s. As the vintage watch collecting hobby comes of age it’s possible to see early examples of originals selling for 6 figures. This watch is around 25 years old and comes with the very subtle and sophisticated tone on tone silver dial. At 39mm diameter, these watches are amazingly comfortable. The locking sliding buckle is shorter than most and fits the average to slim wrist better than the larger Speedmaster models.
The steel tachymeter bezel scale is reminiscent of the Rolex Daytona bezel. Did you know the original Speedmaster from 1957 featured a similar bezel 6 years before the Rolex Cosmograph even debuted.
Unlike an early Daytona, this watch is available without taking out a 2nd mortgage to finance it. It is also self winding with a handy 31-day calendar, that no Daytona has ever been equipped with.
Powering the Speedmaster 3513.30 is a 25 jewel Omega calibre 1152 (modified Valjoux 7750). These workhorse movements are renowned for their reliability, serviceability, and accuracy. They can easily be tuned to well within chronometer levels of accuracy.
The history of the Omega Speedmaster is one Omega’s most valuable narratives and they leverage this story in a multitude of versions. Modern Speedmasters are among the most popular models offered. Getting into a new Speedmaster will have you spending a minimum of $7,600.00, with prices escalating to well over $100,000.00. Our estate example appears to be in regularly worn original condition with scuffs, scratches, and the occasional light impact mark. The 19 link bracelet shows very little sag and no stretch.
It is working great and keeping very good time. Including a complimentary 1-year warranty our estate Speedmaster is estate priced at $2,000.00 CAD. Stock #510-00137.
