2023 Tudor Black Bay 39 79660 $3,600.00 CAD. 505-00514

The Black Bay series of Tudor watches was introduced in 2012 as a one model retro style divers watch in stainless steel on a leather strap or single style bracelet. Over the years the super sporty divers look has expanded to include dual-time, calendar, chronograph equipped watches made from stainless steel, bronze, sterling silver, luxurious 18 karat gold, and some are even set with diamonds. The case sizes range from a smaller 31mm ladies to a very large 43mm diameter. Bracelet and strap choices have expanded with different designs, colours, and materials. The Black Bay series is now almost completely comprehensive and could almost serve as the only series in the entire Tudor line up. Our latest estate Tudor is this Black Bay One 39 from 2023 in stainless steel. It represents a dressier style within the sporting range. A simple smooth bezel frames the silver sunburst dial with just 3 hands. The basic layout is all about function, no extra information, not even a calendar, just oversized hands and bright luminous hour markers. The tone on tone colour scheme works great with the casual nature of the watch. A Rolex inspired Jubilee style bracelet results in a dressy style but tough enough to handle anything you throw at it. In addition to 5 removable links, the flip lock equipped buckle features a 6 position micro adjustment for the perfect fit. I wish Rolex used a buckle like this on their watches. A threaded crown, case back, and friction fit sapphire crystal allow this watch a water resistance rating of  200 meters, twice that of the standard Rolex Oyster. Beating inside the watertight case is an inhouse manufactured MT5602 automatic winding chronometer movement. This movement was introduced by Tudor in 2015 and has been shown to be extremely reliable and accurate. The 25 jewel mechanism features a long 70 hours of power reserve and non magnetic silicon hairspring. There are not many watches on the market with these credentials at this price point. For a luxury watch, Tudor make a very compelling case as an outstanding value if you’re considering buying a new one and is an absolute no brainer on the secondary market for a discount compared to retail pricing retail. Our watch is in hardly worn condition showing almost no evidence of use, mostly just light scuffs on the polished sections of the buckle. It remains in 100% original condition and has never been polished or refinished. It was purchased in Canada at an authorized Tudor agent and comes complete with all of its original packaging, documentation and even the original bill of sale. This watch is a current model and can be seen on the Tudor website where it carries a price of $5,220.00 CAD. Including the balance of the 5 year factory warranty (expiring July 2028) our Tudor Black Bay One 39 79660 is estate priced at $3,600.00 CAD. Stock #505-00514.

1 ounce Royal Canadian Mint fine gold bar, spot plus 2% (no sales tax). 912-00669

Most people consider the price of gold relative to a dollar. A of today (May 6th, 2025) an ounce of gold is worth around $4,700.00 Canadian dollars. Comparing gold to currency is likely an inaccurate measure of what gold is really worth. Currency is continually becoming less valuable because inflation continuously diminishes its buying power. The value of gold should be compared to what it can buy. What we mean but this is how much gold does it take to buy the things you need. That could be a car, a whole lot of groceries, or even a house. Here is something to consider. We all know how expensive a house costs nowadays. A decent starter house in Barrie costs around $700,000.00 today or the equivalent of cost to 150 ounces of gold. 25 years ago that same house cost around $300.00 ounces of gold. House prices have shot up around 500% in 25 years but gold has appreciated close to 1000%. Amazing as it seems, gold would have been a much better investment than real estate. An interesting automotive comparison would be this; a Corvette cost around 140 ounces of gold 25 years ago, today a Corvette costs the same as just 21 ounces of gold. Yes gold has been the place to park some extra cash over the last few decades. Where the price of gold is heading is hard to say for sure but the trend is still very positive for gold. Our latest estate bullion offering is this Royal Canadian Mint 1 ounce pure gold bar. It is 99.99% pure, this type of purity is amount the finest that is commercially available. Occasionally the Royal Canadian Mint produce some coins that are 99.999% pure. Gold bullion is exempt from sales tax in Canada. The price fluctuates every day relative to the dollar. A great source for the  current gold spot price is BullionVault.com. We are offering this 1 ounce bar for only 2% over the spot price. Owning a little gold can be considered insurance to protect you against the effects of inflation on your cash. We are not big dealers of precious metals although it comes and goes with regularity. If you’d like a little gold bullion this is a great one to start with, RCM products are among the most sought after and trusted in the world. For VISA/MasterCard purchases please add an additional 2% to cover credit card fees. Stock #912-00669.

18kt. rose gold Speedmaster “First Omega in Space” 40mm 311.63.40.30.02.001. $15,800.00 CAD. 510-00209

It took many years and incremental steps before a men walked on the moon (pun intended). Many watch enthusiasts know the story of the Omega Speedmaster Professional “Moonwatch”; how it earned NASA’s approval as “flight qualified for all manned space flight missions” and won out over the rival Rolex Daytona. On October 3, 1962 astronaut Wally Schirra blasted off from Cape Canaveral Florida on a 9 hour mission, orbiting the earth 6 times before splashing down in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. On his wrist was an Omega Speedmaster, it was the first Omega worn in space. Our latest estate watch is a numbered edition commemorating that flight. Wally’s watch was a regular production, off the shelf stainless steel Speedmaster model CK2998, but this one is made from Omega’s proprietary Sedna rose gold alloy. Traditional red/rose gold alloys are a mix of gold, copper and silver. The colour achieved is beautiful but can loose the reddish hue over the years as copper atoms dissipate from the mixture. To address this Omega use rare and precious palladium instead of silver resulting in an alloy than is far more resistant to fading, oxidation, and discolouration. The general layout, functions, tapered hands and recessed registers of our numbered edition are similar to the 1962 Speedmaster, but that’s where it ends. This is certainly a Speedmaster, complete with a hand wind 17 jewel calibre 861 but make no mistake, this is a luxury 18 karat gold watch. As soon as you pick it up the weight of the 40mm gold case is hard to miss. At 112 grams this isn’t the heaviest watch on the market but it is all concentrated in the case, making a somewhat top heavy feel. The silver/dark brown panda dial is very attractive against the warmth of the Sedna gold case. A tastefully embossed commemorative case back decorated with the traditional  hippocampus logo will look familiar to owners of Omega Seamaster and Speedmaster models. Attached to the case is a 19mm dark brown crocodile strap with sporty white stitching and an 18 karat rose gold signed Omega tang buckle. Our example remains in lightly worn original condition, it has never been refinished or polished and retains all its Swiss hallmarks and anti-counterfeit marks. It is functioning perfectly and keeping excellent time. It comes with an Omega box and our complimentary 1-year warranty. Estate price$15,800.00 CAD. Stock #510-0209.

Custom made 1.50ct. SI1-GH “inner/outer” diamond hoop earrings, 14kt., 16.6gr., 5cm. $3,500.00 CAD. 151-00304.

When we custom made these earrings a few years ago we weren’t exactly reinventing the wheel, but I bet you haven’t seen another pair like them before. The first thing you notice is the large size of 5.0cm diameter x 2.5mm wide. Long or short hair, there is no way anyone is going to miss seeing these. The second thing you notice is the solid construction, saving a few dollars by making them hollow wasn’t something we were interested in doing. They weigh well over half an ounce at 16.6 grams in 14 karat white gold. The third thing is the chunky reflections and sparkles from the 1.7mm diameter diamonds. Diamonds this size don’t usually “twinkle” like this; that’s because we selected 17 facet single cut diamonds for this project and not the typical 57 facet round brilliant cut diamond. Round brilliant cut diamonds twinkle and reflect the same amount of light as single cuts but in much smaller bits. This is a great example of less is more and it’s one of the reasons Rolex selects 17 facet single cut diamonds for decorating diamond dial watches. In good quality, single cut diamonds simply look better than full cuts. The 80 diamonds we hand selected from 1000s exhibited superior cut and with good clarity and colour. They average SI-GH in quality. This pair of Bill Le Boeuf Jewellers originals were traded in for something different by the original owner. They remain in very good condition with the rhodium plating fully intact. They show fine scratches and scuffs on the exposed polished surfaces but nothing requiring a fresh polish or re-rhodium plating. If you’re able to stop by, we’d love to show you how a simple high quality single cut diamond can look better than the more complicated 57 facet brilliant cut. If we had to hand make them today with gold at all time highs, it would cost over $5,000.00. This custom made estate pair is priced at just $3,500.00 CAD. Stock #151-00304.

2006 Omega Seamaster 300 Professional Chronograph Titanium 41mm 2298.80. $3,500.00 CAD. 510-00207

Think of this as the “James Bond watch” on steroids. Its 41.5mm case size is bigger, thicker, bulkier and has more functions compared to the much more common movie star issue 2531.80.00. All the regular Seamaster features are showcased in this watch and the 12 hour chronograph are all operating perfectly. The chronometer rated movement is running within chronometer specifications. Its threaded crown and case back are designed to keep the movement protected from moisture to a depth of 1000 feet. 60 minute one way ratcheting timer bezel along with a 3 register 12 hour chronograph give you all the timing capability you could ask for. Heavy solid link bracelet with diver’s extension and helium escape valve will have even the most seasoned diver entertained. It’s so nice to see the original day-glow orange register tips are still in place and haven’t faded completely to that pinkish white hue seen on most of these. This example is one of the nicest we’ve seen in a long time and it is the more rare titanium case and bracelet version. The titanium option cost 30% more than the identical model in stainless steel. The bracelet shows very little sage and still maintains the brushed finish with two thin polished sections. Large skeleton hands with bright luminous treatment allow easy time interpretation in all lighting conditions. Overall finish and condition are very good to excellent. The finish appears original and unpolished. The watch shows a few minor scuffs and impact marks but nothing significant. There are many worse things you can do with $3,500.00 besides buying a good Swiss watch from one of the most renowned brands. This watch cost exactly twice what the basic automatic time/date only “James Bond” Seamaster of the era, but they don’t sell for much more than the basic offering on the pre-owned market and represent a great value. Model 2298.80.00 had a suggested retail price of $5,200.00 when new. This example is around 20 years old but looks practically new. It comes with a period correct inner/outer box, and instruction book. The watch is running great and keeping great time courtesy of a full overhaul/service by our master watchmaker in February 2025. Including our 1 year complimentary warranty this uncommon titanium Seamaster Chronograph is estate priced at $3,500.00 CAD. Stock #510-00207.
