Rolex no longer produce an Oyster Date in 34mm diameter. The actual measurement of this watch is 35.3mm according to our calipers. It’s no wonder this model was retired a few years ago, because Rolex still make the waaaaay more popular Datejust 36 that does measure a true 36mm. The 34mm (35.3mm) Oyster Date was seen as somewhat of a lesser watch for some reason although it was virtually identical to the popular Datejust 36. I think it’s mostly a psychological preference for the Datejust because dimensionally speaking it is almost indistinguishable. In reality this watch it the perfect choice for anyone with wrist size of anywhere around 6 1/2 inches. It’s the Goldilocks size for plenty of people. We seldom see these models but almost always have a modern 0.7mm larger size in stock. Looking at the preowned watch marketplace Chrono24.com shows the 34mm model 115234 is outnumbered more than 12 to 1 compared to the 36mm version reference 116234, making this watch a rather rare find. Our example comes with the classic black dial. The glossy finish with large luminous hour markers, is the classic Rolex look in any lighting situation. This example also features the upgraded fluted bezel in solid 18 karat white gold showing only minor softening to its sharp crisp edges, suggesting this watch hasn’t been continuously worn. The protective case-back sticker is still in place although yellowed. From a mechanical perspective the movement inside is the Rolex inhouse calibre 3135. This is the identical mechanism you’ll find in the Datejust 36 and the Submariner. Other features this watch showcases are what makes Rolex watches so durable. A sapphire crystal offer exceptional optics and hardness. The treaded crown and case-back keep the internals protected from debris and moisture, with a water resistance rating of over 300 feet. The mechanical locking buckle with “easylink” 5mm extension provide a touch of extra length for those hot and sticky days. There are no original documents or box supplied with the watch. It is working great and keeping good time. We are happy to supply the next owner with a 1 year warranty. Rolex are still making a 36mm version almost identical to this watch for $11,800.00. Natural gems can run the entire spectrum of vivid colours. Few minerals display a more colourful pallette than corundum. You may not be familiar with corundum but you’ve definitely heard of specific varieties of this very durable stone. When corundum is blue it is commonly known as sapphire, when it forms red, it’ a ruby, but both gems are the same mineral corundum. The variation in colours comes from different element impurities found within the gem. Red is caused by chromium, blue from iron and titanium. Our latest estate ring contains a beautiful display of natural sapphires in green, blue, red, and yellow. Because all the gems are the same mineral, they exhibit the same optical properties, same reflective qualities, same refractive index etc. making them match much better than a variety of different coloured gems. When is comes to colourful gems there is also not much tougher than a sapphire. They are the perfect choice for durability and longevity. The 8 gems are surrounded by 43 tiny round natural diamonds. The diamonds are bezel and prong set in a scalloped edge framing the colourful display. This ring is in like new condition showing shop worn only. The 14 karat white gold ring weighs 4.7 grams and measures a finger size 6 1/2. These images do not do this ring justice; the colours are rich and saturated. Dec. 2024 Tudor Pelagos FXD GMT 42mm 2542G247NU extra NATO strap $5,500.00 CAD. 505-00609

The Tudor Pelagos FXD GMT is one of those models that is not likely going to be your only watch, but for owners with a small or large collection it’s likely to become a favorite. This is a watch offers great utility, comfort, and a look that is hard to miss. The titanium case while large at 42mm is surprisingly light at under 80 grams including the green nylon strap with complimentary titanium buckle. It also has a fairly thin case at just under 13mm making for a very comfortable fit. Powering the FXD GMT is the inhouse developed MT5652-U automatic movement. The U designation meaning if conforms to “METAS Master Chronometer certification” and features a long 70 hour power reserve, plus the independently adjustable orange 24 hour hand. It’s more of a pilots watch but still comes with a useful 200 meter water resistance rating. In the dark this watch really shows off with both green and blue luminous pigment liberally applied to every possible index. The 12 hour markings all glow a soft blue hue while the 24 hour indexing radiate green. This model debuted in late 2024 and this is a very early public release example that was delivered in Canada at an authorized Tudor agent in December 2024. It has never been worn and remains in new condition, complete with delivery stickers on both sides of the case. It also comes with an extra OEM Tudor NATO style black strap with gold stripe. The extra accessory strap blends great with the soft tan patina of the hour plots and hands. This watch comes with all of its original documentation, identification tag, inner/outer boxes, the extra Tudor strap, and even a copy of the original dealer invoice. This is a current Tudor model and can be seen on their website where it carries a retail price of $5,930.00. 0.75ct. tw. SI-I natural diamond drop/hoop earrings, 3.6gr., 14kt. gold. $1,320.00 CAD. 151-00364

They are more than just a diamond hoop or a simple drop earring, this pair does a great job at being glamorous in a modest and easy to wear size. Diamond earrings continue to be one of our most popular estate jewellery categories. This pair is very clever, looking like a 1.00 carat single stone drop at the bottom of each hoop. The drop sections each actually contain 9 smaller diamonds that overlap each other leaving no empty spots to reveal the illusion. The four decorative claws further reenforce the mimicry and are nothing more than ornamental. As a finishing touch all the gold areas around the diamonds have been rhodium plated to a brilliant white finish. The 34 round brilliant cut diamonds used in the 4 sections total an estimated weight of 0.75 carats. They are well matched and of better quality than typically seen in most multiple stone designs, SI clarity and HI colour. The earrings are secured by easy to use hinged locking posts, always lined up and no fussy friction backs to keep track of. The decorative filigree gallery is a nice touch that doesn’t serve any purpose other than to look pretty. These earrings are made from close to 3.5 grams of upgraded 14 karat gold. 2003 Rolex Submariner 40mm 16610 Canadian Delivery $13,500.00 CAD. 505-00608

If you like em complete here’s your Submariner. The demand seems insatiable for ANY Submariner. New or old they’re always in high demand. We’re quite fortunate to get them in on a regular basis, but they are seldom as complete as our latest example, right down to a copy of the original bill of sale. The first owner was disposing of some receipts in his fireplace when he thought better of burning the Rolex receipt from October 2003. A photo copy of the original clearly shows the scorched areas from the fire.  I love it when an older watch comes in with its full compliment of boxes, documents all in perfect condition. The box looks like the watch was never stored inside. No stains or blemishes on the tan swede cuff of the inner box, its wooden lining is 100% scratch free courtesy of the protective foam sheet still in place. The chronometer hang tag is perfect too. Punched paper endorsed warranty card with black cardboard and sleeve are accounted for with sharp crisp edges. The service/instructions booklets look like they’ve never been opened fully as there are no creases in the spines. Bracelet is in excellent condition showing little sag and no stretch. The embossed Rolex logo on the buckle cover still displays fine detail that is lost when refinished too often. Case lugs are thick, serrated bezel edges are sharp allowing precision adjustment of the 60 minute timer bezel. The factory applied fine beveled edge is softening slightly from use but can easily been seen. Scuffs, scratches and minor impact marks are present on the case/bracelet but overall condition for a 22 year old professional Rolex is very good. The 16610 Submariner is a very common model but finding one complete in this condition is rare. These are the last of the aluminum bezel inserts and the traditional 40mm thin lug design common to all Submarines from 1953 until the release of the ceramic bezel model in 2010. Over the close to 25 year production run I’m sure Rolex made hundreds of thousands of them perhaps more than a million. Since they’ve been discontinued and replaced with the new ceramic bezel model collectors are turning to these. Plastic crystal Submariners routinely sell for over $20,000.00 making the 16610 one of the only options.
