It took Rolex over a century years to make a basic dress watch bigger than 36mm, when in 2009 they introduced the Datejust II. I guess great mills really do grind slow, but 100 years? Rolex has always had sporty 40mm offerings but a larger more conservative design just didn’t exist until the Datejust II. A simple dial with time and date display but now measuring a full 41mm.
Bigger than a Submariner, bigger than a Daytona. In fact it looks much much bigger than both because there is no thick bezel compressing the area of the dial. I’m sure there are many people who would have bought a Rolex, but the traditional conservative 36mm size just isn’t what some were looking for. Thicker hands, bigger markers with lots of luminous material makes the watch much more functional and visible in all lighting conditions.
Our estate example has only been lightly worn by its previous owner. Purchased in Toronto November 2015 there is only minor evidence of any use.
If the warranty card wasn’t already dated and filled out you’d swear it was only a few months old.
It comes with everything from the original delivery; inner/outer boxes, warranty card, instructions, chronometer tag, wallet etc. all in perfect condition. This model has been retired for a few years now, replaced by the slightly more conservative Datejust 41 126300. The new model has more “size appropriate” hour markers and a slightly thinner bezel. Both models are beautiful in their basic approach to simple timekeeping but there is something about the original design that we find more appealing; maybe it’s because you can no longer get them new.
The Datejust II was only made for 7 years when is was retired and replaced by the Datejust 41. Despite being a relatively modern Rolex the basic all steel DJII ref:116300 is nowhere near as common as the DJ41 ref:126300. As of today (Feb. 28, 2026) Chrono24.com is only showing 179 complete examples of DJIIs compared to 2271 DJ41s and Rolex is still producing many more every day. Given the relative scarcity of the Datejust II and a slightly lower price, we feel this is a much better model to spend a bit of money on. This excellent example is running great and keeping excellent time. We are happy to provide the next owner with a complimentary 1-year warranty. Estate priced at $11,300.00 CAD. Stock #505-00601.

They sparkle and twinkle with every movement. This subtle articulation not only adds visual interest, but also exemplifies the exquisite thought and craftsmanship behind the design. The House of Gucci has been around since 1921, starting off as producers of luxury leather goods. From bamboo handled hand bags to the red and green striped logo on watches dials and accessories, the Gucci brand is one of the world’s most well known.
Vintage Gucci has been far more popular than we could have ever imagined. The interchangeable bezel watches of the 90s sell within days when we spotlight one on our website. This elongated rectangular bangle style model 1500 is another classic from 20-30 years ago.
This example is as close to perfect as they come. There is almost no evidence of use except for the most insignificant scuffs and scratches on the flat surfaces. We really don’t think this watch has been worn more than a handful of times. Even the fold-over locking buckle is virtually blemish free.
The high quality, fully jewelled Swiss quartz movement inside the 12mm wide case is running flawlessly. When we opened up the watch to install a fresh, high capacity silver oxide battery, we were surprised to see what we believe was the original cell still in place after more than 20 years.
We suspect the watch was only used for special occasions for a few years. After the original battery expired it was left in a jewellery box until we acquired it. This would explain its like new condition. There is still a protective case back sticked in place.
The watch does not come with any original documentation or packaging. The solid link hinged bangle bracelet is a small size measuring a little over 6 1/4 inches; this watch is only going to fit a lady with a slender wrist.
We are please to include a 1 year warranty for the next owner. Estate priced at $400.00 CAD. Stock #501-00436.

Born in Switzerland and established in Vancouver, more than 50 years ago, Toni Cavelti is internationally celebrated for his handcrafted modernist creations. Renowned for his bold geometric forms and refined textures, Cavelti’s work reflects the clean lines, sculptural references and rich textures that define the Modernist jewellery movement. Cavelti’s accolades include four Diamonds International Awards and a commissioned necklace for Queen Elizabeth.
As a signature designer for Birks, his work continues to be highly sought after by collectors worldwide. A spectacular example of vintage modernist design, this signed Toni Cavelti ring is masterfully handcrafted in solid 18 karat yellow gold. This striking designer estate piece features a prominent brilliant-cut, centre diamond weighing approximately 0.55 carats, graded VS1 clarity and G colour, bezel set in white gold atop a prominent rounded barrel design feature that sits high off the finger.
Measuring approximately 8.5 mm high with a diameter of 12.5 mm, the bold sculptural crown is further enhanced by an engraved “sunburst” effect radiating from the central diamond. The fluted texture of the engraved pattern contrasts against the substantial, smooth, flat, high-polished, wide (11.7mm) yellow gold band.
An additional “halo”, comprised of 18 round single cut diamonds of the same quality with an approximate total carat weight of 0.45 carats, accents all the way around the middle of the elevated crown. A collectible statement piece, at an impressive weight 12 grams in premium 18 karat gold. This vintage Cavelti diamond ring embodies timeless modernist elegance and exceptional craftsmanship. Currently measuring a size 5 1/2 with room be adjusted up or down in size, this vintage designer gem is in excellent condition. It comes with a 2007 certificate of appraisal from Birks suggesting a retail price of $10,500.00.
If you love the funky style of this Cavelti ring but it’s a little out of reach, we also have a similar looking ring in 14 karat gold from an unknown manufacturer featuring a 9.6mm Florentine finish ball on a flat shank.
The Cavelti(esque) design measures a finger size 5, weighs 2.6 grams, can be made larger or smaller, and is estate priced at $500.00 CAD (stock #401-00313).
The Cavelti original is estate priced at $5,000.00 CAD. Stock #131-00275.
Building on the success of the Heritage Black Bay, Tudor introduced a slightly more subtle sporting watch called the Heritage Black Bay 36. It’s a little smaller than the diver version but it appears larger than the 36mm size suggests because it lacks the 60-minute rotating bezel timer.
A brushed finish 18 karat yellow gold fixed bezel replaces the ratcheting timing bezel found on diver Black Bay. The dressier design actually makes for a more distinctive look than the popular yet ubiquitous diver design. Much the same as the Rolex Explorer is to the Submariner, the Black Bay 36 isn’t trying to do much other than be a pure time interpreting tool built of the right stuff. Large luminous hands and hour markers against a glossy and rare champagne dial offer excellent legibility in any situation and a slightly dressier look than the black or silver dial.
Synthetic sapphire crystal, threaded crown/case back, deployment buckle with safety flip lock on a heavy duty solid link stainless steel with 18 karat gold cap bracelet should get the job done under all conditions. I love the brightly polished centre stainless steel section showing great contrast against the brushed finish on the other links.
The distinctive snowflake hour hand, curved text, and connected minute track are Tudor’s obvious nod to the Tudor/Rolex Submariners of the past, after all this is a Heritage model. Gone is the Tudor rose logo found on the original re-issued Black Bay models but curiously Tudor is still using the traditional logo on the threaded crown.
This example is in good condition. Showing evidence of wear in the form of a few small scuffs and scratches. The watch has never been polished or refinished in any way.
It is covered by our 1 year in house Bill Le Boeuf Jewellers warranty. Comes complete with original Tudor packaging, endorsed warranty card, and instructions.
This model has been retired and replaced with the 36mm Black Bay 1 looking pretty much the same watch with a few subtle changes that can be seen on the Tudor website priced at $8,510.00 CAD. This less is more Tudor is estate priced at $5,000.00 CAD. Stock #505-00626.
